Mark began his career in 1982, working as a Site Quantity Surveyor, and joined Kingsbourne as a director in 1994. He was tasked with evaluating variations and claims on a wide range of projects including large dams, bulk earthworks (including open-cast mining), roads and highways, civil and building works, pipe-works and harbours, and power-generation plants.
Mark’s responsibilities include the preparation of claims (including variations) for adjudication, mediation and arbitration for various construction projects in Australia, sub-Saharan Africa, West and East Africa, Mauritius, Madagascar, the United Arab Emirates, the European Union, Papua New Guinea and Japan.
Mark regularly sits as an expert witness on matters relating to the quantification of claims in mediations, adjudications and arbitrations in South Africa, Lesotho and Botswana.
Mark has acted, and continues to act, as both a single member DAB and a chairperson/member of three-person DABs on numerous projects in sub-Saharan Africa, in addition to DBs and DAABs.
Scott is an admitted attorney, and a qualified solicitor of England and Wales. He joined Kingsbourne in 2004 and became a director of the company in 2009.
Scott specialises in construction law and has represented numerous contractors in a number of mediations, adjudications and arbitrations.
Scott has extensive experience on all the standards forms of contract. He also provides in-house training to Kingsbourne’s clients, in particular on the law of contract and the JBCC.
Bridget’s professional construction industry background as a quantity surveyor exposed her to multiple industries across southern African and beyond. She has successfully leveraged this experience to develop expertise in claims analysis and preparation involving all forms of contracts (including FIDIC, NEC and JBCC).
Bridget’s ability to liaise effectively with all contract stakeholders makes her an invaluable asset to the team, and her depth and breadth of experience are reflected in the fact that she is frequently called upon as an expert witness in adjudication and arbitration hearings.
With almost three decades’ experience in quantity surveying and commercial management, Craig has worked for major South African contractors in various African countries on a wide range of major projects including roads, bulk earthworks, power stations, civil engineering, construction, pipelines and harbours and renewable energy facilities.
Craig’s responsibilities include the calculation of quantum and the preparation of claims (including variations) in the submission of contractual disputes, mediations, adjudications and arbitrations.
He has been called as an expert witness on matters relating to the quantification of claims in mediations, adjudications and arbitrations in sub-Saharan Africa.
Andrew joined Kingsbourne in August 2020. Andrew has a proven track record in the disciplines of Commercial, Contractual and Risk Management.
Andrew’s experience has been gained over a period of 35 years within the South African and International Construction Industry, where has held senior positions within tier 1 South African companies and in the UAE.
Andrew’s experience includes a wide range of major projects in the civil engineering and building sector, including roads, dams, bulk earthworks, power stations, stadiums, pipelines and harbours in South Africa, various African countries, and the Middle East.
Andrew’s responsibilities include the preparation of opinions and claims for adjudication, mediation, and arbitrations.
Kingsbourne was founded in 1990 and specialises in all aspects of construction law, claims and dispute resolution.
